If you live on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, you may recently have caught this article in one of the local newspapers:
I’ve had the pleasure to know author, historian, and all-around-good-guy Brent Lewis for seven years. We were assigned tables next to each other at a book signing at Bridges Restaurant at the Kent Narrows, and we hit it off. Since then, we’ve gotten together for a number of other events, including readings earlier this year with poet Tara Elliott in Centreville and Salisbury.
Brent is a font of knowledge about Eastern Shore history, a fantastic public speaker, and he writes excellent fiction, too. I’m glad and honored that he agreed to be our keynote speaker at 2020’s Bay To Ocean Writers Conference.
If you’re a writer or have always wanted to write, and you live in the Mid-Atlantic, there’s no better one-day conference than BTO, which will be held Saturday, March 7 at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD. You can find details and register here.
As I have before, I’ll be presenting at BTO, not about selling books this time, but about my 5 rules and 10 “do’s and don’t’s.” I’ll be referencing several novels–Harry Potter, The Martian, The Hobbit–as well as my latest, This Wasted Land.
The seminar will be a lot of fun, and Brent’s keynote address will knock it out of the park, as he always does. Don’t wait, because BTO always sells out: sign up now.
Kenton Kilgore writes killer SF/F for young adults and adults who are still young. In his latest novel, This Wasted Land, high-school senior Alyx Williams learns that witches are real when one attacks her and her boyfriend Sam, dragging him off to a nightmare world where Alyx must go to get him back.
Kenton is the author of Lost Dogs, the story of the end of the world as seen, heard–and smelled–by a dog. He also wrote Dragontamer’s Daughters, like Little House on the Prairie…with dragons! With Patrick Eibel, he created Our Wild Place, a children’s book about the joy to be found in exploring Nature. Kenton also published Hand-Selling Books to help authors better their sales.
