superheroes: a never-ending battle

(h/t Robert Bidinotto)

PBS has a great three-part series on superheroes which, if you’re any kind of fan—hardcore or casual, old or new—you should DROP EVERYTHING AND GO WATCH RIGHT NOW!!!

Ahem.  Sorry to have lost my composure there for a moment BUT OMG IT ROCKS!  It covers comic books from Superman in the 1930’s to last year’s Avengers movie, with lots of interviews and comments from writers, artists, actors, and other giants in the comic industry:  Stan Lee, Chris Claremont, Frank Miller, Alan Moore…just too many to name.  Long-time comic geek that I am, I learned quite a few new things.  You can watch all three episodes for free for a limited time, so don’t miss it!

ALSO:  Today, I saw the trailer for Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and had to pass that on:

Looks like an ampped-up  Mission Impossible movie, doesn’t it?  Cap, Black Widow, Nick Fury, the Falcon, S.H.I.E.L.D., the Winter Soldier, and Crossbones—one my favorite villains.  What’s not to love?
